5 Reasons I Love Scrapbooking

It’s no secret that I love to scrap – just ask my husband! Many of my friends enjoy scrapbooking too. In fact, I’ve even met some of my friends through scrapbooking activities. However, I have many friends who have never scrapped a day in their life, and they often ask me why I do it. Here are just some of the reasons I love scrapbooking:

  • I can preserve my favorite photos.
When you use acid-free materials and page protectors and other appropriate scrapbooking tools, you automatically extend the life of your photos – and your memories.
  • It’s a great hobby.
Everyone needs a hobby. For some people it’s music or writing, for others it’s cooking or sports (although I think my husband’s hobby might be watching television). The hobby I find most enjoyable is scrapbooking. It’s a great outlet for my creative side, and the paper and other materials I work with continuously spark my imagination.
  • I can make unforgettable, one-of-a-kind gifts (and save money doing it!)
Since scrapbooks can be highly personal or fairly generic, they’re a great to give for occasions such as weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, baby showers and graduations.  Gifts I’ve scrapped are appreciated more, cost less, and I don’t have to worry about anyone else giving the same gift!
  • I get to bond with scrapbooking friends.
My friends and I love to get together to scrap. We each work on our individual projects or pages, but we inspire and support each other while catching up on our girl talk at the same time. And of course we enjoy shopping for all those fun scrapping embellishments too!
  • I’m able to preserve family history.
When you scrapbook, you become the keeper of your family’s history and memories. That’s quite an honor, and an important job! Scrapping your photos and memories is well worth your time when you realize your family will be able to share these memories for generations to come.

I could go on and on, but I think you get the idea!  What are the reasons you enjoy scrapping so much?

Until next time, keep on scrapping!

Your friend,
