“The School Year Rocked!” Bulletin Board
It’s been a great year! Show your students how much you enjoyed teaching them with a fun bulletin board to celebrate your rockin’ school year. Read on to discover how we made our display (it’s so easy!) and get a few alternative decorating ideas to help you customize yours.
How We Did It
We started with a roll of green paper to make the background and a black wavy border with stars to set the stage. For the main attraction, we hung a personalized banner printed with “Mrs. Miller’s Third Grade Class Rocked This Year!” You can choose your own special saying to showcase your classroom and grade level.
To create the rock star details, we decorated the board with two sizes of cutout gold stars. Simply place a backstage badge holder on each star with the name and photo of each student. They’ll love the star treatment! To finish the board, we added a few inflatable guitars for a fun 3-D element.

- Jazz up the bulletin board by using prismatic or shiny plastic background paper.
- Bring in props and let the kids pose as rock stars for their photos.

- Add guitar picks, sunglasses and musical notes to your design.
- Attach the guitars with touch fastener strips so they’re removable. Attach them to different students’ desks each day to highlight your “star students” during the last week of class. Make sure everyone gets his or her time in the spotlight!
