V.B.S. Fundraising Ideas

Every dollar counts when you’re raising money for your V.B.S. program. Below, we’ve provided you with several creative and clever ways to fundraise so you can reach even more kids during V.B.S.

Fundraising

Bowl-a-Thon

Have kids traverse their neighborhood requesting a pledge for every pin they knock down in a single game (ten frames). A penny a pin, 25 cents a pen, or even $1 a pin. This fundraiser is perfect for those who don’t have much money to donate, so they can pledge only what they can afford.

Car Wash

Get your church youth group to help with this fundraiser, and gather everyone in the church parking lot for a car wash. Charge $5 per car.

Ornament Sale

Why not start fundraising extra early? Stock up on budget-friendly ornament craft kits sold by the dozen, then sell the finished projects during the holiday season. Charge $1 per ornament and get an early start on V.B.S. fundraising.

Gift Wrapping

Ask a local department store if you can set up a table for gift wrapping during the holiday season. They may even donate the gift wrap, otherwise you can look for opportunities to buy gift wrap that is on clearance. Charge $2 for each gift wrapped.

Chili Cook-Off

If you’re fundraising during the winter months, a chili cook-off is a great way to satisfy appetites and your budget needs. Host the cook-off at your church on a Saturday evening. If you don’t want to charge, you can accept donations. You can also use this idea for a pot luck dinner or a picnic.

Dance Lessons

Recruit a dance instructor from a local dance studio to come to your church and offer ballroom dancing lessons for $5 per person. Hand out fliers at church and around your neighborhood to promote the event, and let people know you’re raising money for your V.B.S. program. This is a great family activity and it helps fit some exercise into busy schedules for a good cause.

Book Sale

Start a book drive at your church to sell used books to a local used bookstore. Or, use donated books to host your own bookfair. This is a simple way to raise money, and if you don’t sell all of the books, you can donate them to a local library. Looking for more V.B.S. ideas?
