Helpful Tips to Haunt Your House
Looking for easy ways you can create a spirited scene on Halloween? From your front yard, to your living room, these tips will help you transform your house into the best haunt on-the-block.
1. Start with your front yard and porch. Decorate with headstones, then scatter fake bones around the headstones. Add some spider webs, hanging bats and line the sidewalk with spooky luminaries.
2. Add lights. String lighted bats and skulls, or select red, black or orange lights to add a mysterious glow. You can even place strobe lights in the windows for extra effect.
3. Get the whole family involved! A house without haunters is not haunted. Have them play zombies or ghosts that roam around your yard or home when trick-or-treaters arrive.
4. Use props and music. Use all ghost-white or black sheets to cover furniture. Place skeletons, witches and spiders strategically for a good scare and top everything off with creepy music, or howls and groans.
5. Know who you’re haunting. Decorate your haunted house specifically for the type of crowd that will be attending. If you have small children stopping by, don’t go over-the-top with gore. For adult audiences, props can be more spooky.
