Helpful Tips for Hosting an Easter Egg Hunt

Planning your annual Easter egg hunt? This year make it egg-stra special! These simple tips will help you host a fun and festive Easter egg hunt on a sensible budget.

Set the Scene

•    If the weather is nice, have the hunt in your backyard or a nearby park. A fun way to mark the hunt is to use a pennant banner, streamers or balloons to map out the area.
•    If you have a tree out in your front lawn, hang sparkling Easter egg ornaments on its branches. They’re a must–have for a fun Easter look! Add a jumbo-sized inflatable Easter Bunny to bring on the smiles! What child can resist a giant bunny holding a polka dot Easter egg? He’s sure to add some “hop” to your hunt!

Greet Guests

•    Post a personalized yard sign or an Easter Egg Hunt sign in your front lawn. It’s a great way to make your guests feel welcome and get kids excited for the big event. For even more fun, wow your guests with a visit from the Easter bunny himself! Don an Easter Bunny costume and hand out treats from a decorated Easter basket. Your guests will be talking about it long after the event!

Keep it Simple

•    Candy and toy-filled eggs take the work out of the preparations and save you time and money. Be sure to order plenty of unfilled eggs to fill with your own special treats. Kids love stickers, tattoos, rings and bouncing balls. Plus, don’t forget Easter plush, toys and games as well.

Play Fair

•    A little planning ahead ensures that your little guests won’t be overwhelmed by all the excitement. Try designating a specific color for each child with a ribbon or rubber bracelet. Mark their treats with the same color, then instruct each child to look for just their color. When the hunt is over, each child has an equal amount of goodies to call their own. If the older children finish before the little ones, recruit them to help the others finish up.
