Spring Sprouts Bulletin Board

Spring has sprung! Our Spring Sprouts bulletin board idea is a great way to decorate your classroom and teach younger students about the growth cycle of a plant! We’ll show you how to make this display (it’s so easy!) and offer a few alternatives to customize it for your classroom.

How We Did It

• The sky, grass, sun, flowers and shovel were all made from colored paper and construction paper. For the grass, we cut fringe to create a fun textured look. We used red yarn and wiggle eyes to give our shovel and sun some cute smiles.

Self-adhesive foam letters made it easy to spell out “Dig”, “Plant”, “Water” and “Grow.”

• For the dirt under the shovel, we used brown tissue paper squares for a realistic look.

• We used self-adhesive jewel tone daisies for the seeds.

• Cotton balls made fun, fluffy cloud, and we used self-adhesive foam shapes for the lightning, raindrops and mini rain clouds.

• We used green chenille stems for the flower stalks and decorated the blooms with paper, stickers, plastic jewels and other craft embellishments.

Make It Your Own!

You can follow our method exactly or mix it up with these creative alternatives:

• Get creative with the seeds! You can also try beads, sequins, plastic rhinestones or even real seeds.

• Instead of foam shapes for the raindrops, try using transparent blue pony beads.

• The sky’s the limit for the flowers! Look through your classroom supplies and see what fresh ideas sprout!
