Fiesta Office Party

Products Used:
49/426 Inflatable Cactus Cooler
24/1634 Chili Pepper Beaded Necklaces
34/491 Plastic Margarita Glasses
15/300 Embroidered Sombreros (adult size)
34/762 Geometric Maracas

Party Location & Set-up
Choose a space where everyone will be able to move around and mingle comfortably.  A large break room with tables, a refrigerator and sink is convenient when serving food, but any conference room or courtyard large enough to accommodate your group will work.  Bring in some chairs, but set up your party to encourage people to walk around and talk with others or play games.

Decorations
Fill the Inflatable Cactus Cooler with ice and add cans and bottles of beverages.  You can use one as a main table centerpiece, or place several around the room to set the scene.  Another centerpiece idea is to stack Plastic Margarita Glasses in a pyramid and fill with Chili Pepper Beaded Necklaces or brightly-wrapped candies.  Or place the Embroidered Sombrero in the center of the table, line the rim with napkins, and fill with chips.  Sombreros and maracas can also be scattered around the room as decorations.

Party Food
In addition to filling a Sombrero Hat with chips, you can fill some of the Margarita Glasses with salsa.  Guests will appreciate having their own dipping cup and not crowding around one salsa bowl with double dippers. Fill the Cactus Coolers with ice and add a variety of soda pop, bottled water, tea and other beverages. Keep party costs down and get co-workers involved by asking them to sign up ahead of time to bring their favorite Mexican foods such as appetizers, casseroles or desserts.

Fiesta Party Games
Cactus Sombrero Toss – Take turns tossing Sombreros at the Inflatable Cactus Cooler.  Anyone who can get the cactus to “catch” their sombrero wins a prize.

Eye-on-the-Prize Game – Line up 3 sombreros on a table, right side up. Place any small object (a squeezeable stress ball or piece of candy works well) under one of the hats, then mix them up while the contestant is turned around or blindfolded.  If the person correctly guesses which hat the object is under, they win a prize.

Hat Dance – Turn up the fiesta music and have each person place their sombrero on the ground.  Everyone must dance in circles around their hat – whoever doesn’t get dizzy and dances the longest wins a price. Or, you can hand out several prizes for most original dance, funniest dance, most unusual, most rhythm, etc.  Have the crowd cheer everyone on with maracas!

Fiesta Pyramid – Break up into teams, and give each team a supply of Plastic Margarita Glasses.  Rotating turns between teams, each person on a team takes a turn adding another cup to build a Fiesta pyramid. If one team’s pyramid topples over, the other team wins.

Party Favors & Prizes
When guests arrive, greet them with Chili Pepper Beaded Necklaces and Geometric Maracas.  You can also “crown” game winners with their very own sombrero.  Or reward winners with maracas.
