"This is my real story. In my family we have experienced the dreadful disease of Breast Cancer in 3 generations. My mother died from it at the young age of 59 and I had it at a younger age of 36. My first daughter had it at the young age of 25 and again in her second breast at the age of 33. My second daughter was 34 weeks pregnant and found out she had Breast Cancer so they had to do a C-section to take the baby so she could start on her chemo, at that time she also was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer.
To date God has been extremely good to us and we are all in remission.
My dream is that they find a CURE before it hits our next generation, which is my 3 granddaughters. That is why I am involved with the Avon Walk, and was happy to find your pinwheels with the smiley face. I added stickers to the leaves which say "SMILE" on one side and "EVERY STEP YOU TAKE IS ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE CURE."
Early detection is the key to SURVIVAL.
Each person who will be doing the Avon Walk in Chicago on May 31st will be getting a Pinwheel."
